The sayings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Mu` meneen Brothers and Sisters, As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa
Barakatuh. (May Allah`s Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
Umar (r.a.) heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say:
`If you put your faith completely in Allah, He will arrange for your sustenance
in the same way as He provides for the birds. They go out in the morning
with their stomachs empty and return filled in the evening.`
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 79 Narrated by Umar ibn al-Khattab
Mu` meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah`s Peace, Mercy and
Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question: assalamalaikum!
Question: is this
a sunnah that the rizk( barkat in husband`s job) comes from the wife`s fate(
qismat) and children from husband`s fate (qismat). how true is this?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The
forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received
from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)
Answer:
Rizk sustenance from wife and child
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 42 Surah Shura verse 12:
12 To Him (Allah) belong the keys (of the treasures) of the
heavens and the earth: He enlarges and restricts the sustenance to whom He
Wills: for He Knows full well all things.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 42 Surah Shura verse 19:
19 Gracious is Allah to His servants: He gives sustenance
to whom He Pleases: and He has Power to can carry out His Will.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 13 Surah Raad verse 26:
26 Allah doth enlarge or grant by (strict) measure the
sustenance (which He Gives) to whom He so Pleases.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 151:
151 Say: "Come I will rehearse what Allah hath (really)
prohibited you from: join not anything as equal with Him; be good to your
parents: kill not your children on a plea of want; We provide sustenance
for you and for them; come not nigh to shameful deeds whether open or
secret; take not life which Allah hath made sacred except by way of justice and
law: thus doth He command you that ye may learn wisdom.”
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.430 Narrated by
Abdullah bin Musud
Allah`s Messenger (saws), the true and truly inspired said, "(The matter
of the Creation of) a human being is put together in the womb of the mother in
forty days, and then it becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar period, and
then a piece of flesh for a similar period. Then Allah sends an Angel who is
ordered to write four things: he (the Angel) is ordered to write down its (the
baby’s) deeds, its sustenance, its (date of) death, and whether it will be
blessed or wretched (in religion). Then the soul is breathed into it…..”
The ‘rizk’ or sustenance of each and every individual in creation is determined
and prescribed by Decree from the Lord Most Gracious when one is still in one’s
mother’s womb! The sustenance of the wife or the child is entirely
dependant upon the Decree and the Determination their Lord Creator has made for
them; and they themselves (or anyone in creation) do not possess the power to
increase or decrease the provision which the Lord has Decreed for their husband
or their father (or anyone else in creation!).
Beloved Sister in Islam, what we know as ‘fate’ or ‘destiny’ or ‘qismat’ is
nothing more than the Documented and Decreed Perfect and Absolute Knowledge of
Allah Subhanah. The fate or destiny or the blessings in the sustenance of
the husband is not at all dependant on his wife or his children….but it is
Allah Subhanah Alone Who Prescribes by Decree the amount of sustenance for each
in His creation.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and
Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best
and He is the Only Source of Strength.
