Al-Emran 65-68

Al-Emran 65-68 by Saafanq @ 2009-12-07 – 04:15:21

65- O PEOPLE OF THE BOOK, WHY DO YOU ARGUE CONCERNING IBRAHIM, WHEN THE TORAH AND ENGEEL WERE SENT DOWN AFTER HIM, DO YOU HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING.

66- HERE YOU ARGUED ABOUT MATTERS ABOUT WHICH YOU HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE, THEN WHY DO YOU ARGUE ABOUT MATTERS ABOUT WHICH YOU HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE, AND ALLAH KNOWS AND YOU DO NOT KNOW.

67- IBRAHIM WAS NOT JEWISH NOR CHRISTIAN, BUT A MUSLIM PURE IN FAITH AND WAS NOT OF THOSE WHO WORSHIP PARTNERS WITH GOD.

68- THE CLOSEST PEOPLE TO IBRAHIM ARE THOSE WHO FOLLOWED HIM, THIS PROPHET AND THOSE WHO BELIEVE, AND ALLAH IS THE ALLY AND SUPPORTER OF THE BELIEVERS.

When the Christians of Nagran visited Medina, they met with the Jews and their scholars there. They argued concerning Ibrahim, the father of the prophets, the Jews claiming that he was Jewish, and the Christians claiming that he was Christian. Allah the Highest sent these Ayahs to settle that argument. This argument however goes on until now:

1- The Torah, Moses, Jesus and the Engeel, both came long after Ibrahim peace upon them all. These two books were the books of Judaism and Christianity, neither of them was sent down in Ibrahim’s era.

2- Allah the Highest states that Ibrahim peace upon him was a Muslim (submitter) pure in faith, who never worshiped partners with God.

Arguing without knowledge can not lead to a good result. Allah the Highest tells us that they argued concerning matters they have no knowledge of, just as they argue concerning matters they have knowledge of. This is because the argument is not for the sake of knowing, but for the sake of defending their side regardless of whether it is right or wrong.

Allah the Highest said about Ibrahim peace upon him that he was not Jewish or Christian, but Muslim (Submitter) and his faith has always been pure from any idle worshipping. Ibrahim’s submission was obedience to Allah’s command. Allah the Highest said: “AS HIS LORD SAID TO HIM: “SUBMIT YOURSELF”, HE SAID: “I SUBMIT TO THE LORD OF ALL THE WORLDS”. (S: 2 A: 131)

Islam is submission to Allah the Highest, and this submission is Islam. It is the only religion Allah the Highest accepts starting with Adam peace upon him. Allah the Highest said: “THE RELIGION BEFORE ALLAH IS ISLAM, THOSE WHO WERE GIVEN THE BOOK BEFOREHAND DISAGREED BETWEEN THEM AFTER KNOWLEDGE CAME TO THEM, DUE TO THEIR INJUSTICE TO EACH OTHER. AS FOR THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE IN ALLAH’S AYAHS, ALLAH IS SWIFT IN RECKONING”. (S: 3 A: 19)

Also Allah the Highest: “AND WHOEVER SEEKS A RELIGION OTHER THAN ISLAM, IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FROM HIM AND IN THE HEREAFTER HE WILL BE OF THE LOSERS”. (S: 3 A: 85)

Islam as delivered and given to Mohamed prayer and peace upon him is the only pure faith present, after the alterations made in Judaism and Christianity. It is the only religion Allah the Highest accepts from mankind after the prophecy of Mohamed prayer and peace upon him.

The name Muslim was given to us by our father Ibrahim peace upon him: “AND FIGHT IN THE CAUSE OF ALLAH AS HE OUGHT TO BE FOUGHT FOR, HE HAS CHOSEN YOU, HE DID NOT IMPOSE DIFFICULTIES ON YOU IN RELIGION, THE RELIGION OF YOUR FATHER IBRAHIM, HE NAMED YOU MUSLIMEEN”. (S: 22 A: 78)

Mohamed prayer and peace upon him and his followers, the Muslims, are the closest to Ibrahim peace upon him at present. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Every prophet has another prophet close to him, and the closest to me is my father and the Khalil of my Lord. Then he recited “THE CLOSEST PEOPLE TO IBRAHIM ARE THOSE WHO FOLLOWED HIM, THIS PROPHET AND THOSE WHO BELIEVE, AND ALLAH IS THE SUPPORTER OF THE BELIEVERS”. (T: Tafseer Sorah 3; 3 & a: 1; 401)

The disbelievers are allies and supporters to each other, however the only ally and supporter the believers should have is Allah the highest and each other, if they are truly pious. Allah the Highest said: “THE EVIL DOERS ARE ALLIES AND SUPPORTERS TO EACH OTHER, WHILE ALLAH IS THE ALLY AND SUPPORTER OF THE PIOUS”. (S: 45 A: 44)

As long as the believers do not take others for allies and supporters, Allah the Highest remains the Ally and Supporter of the believers in every aspect of their life, first of all in guiding them. Allah the Highest said: “ALLAH IS AN ALLY AND SUPPORTER TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE, TAKING THEM OUT OF DARKNESS INTO LIGHT, WHILE THE DISBELIEVER’S ALLY IS EVIL, TAKING THEM OUT OF LIGHT INTO DARKNESS. THEY ARE THE PEOPLE OF THE FIRE, WHERE THEY WILL ABIDE FOREVER”. (S: 2 A: 257)

The evil is Satan and his followers and deeds he invites people to do, for Allah the Highest said: “WE MADE THE DEVILS ALLIES AND SUPPORTERS TO THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE”. (S: 7 A: 27)

And said: “A GROUP HE (ALLAH) GUIDED, AND ANOTHER GROUP DESERVE MISGUIDANCE, FOR THEY HAVE TAKEN THE DEVILS FOR ALLIES AND SUPPORTERS INSTEAD OF ALLAH, AND THEY THINK THAT THEY ARE BEING GUIDED”. (S: 7 A: 39)

Those who take Allah the Highest for Ally and Supporter, Allah the Highest takes them for allies and supporters. It is not that Allah the Highest needs allies or any one to support him, however those whom Allah the Highest takes for His allies and supporters, Allah the Highest honours them and uses them for doing righteous deeds, which is a further honour. Allah the Highest said: “VERILY, THERE IS NO FEAR UPON THE ALLIES AND SUPPORTERS OF ALLAH, NOR WILL THEY BE SADDENED * THOSE WHO BELIEVE AND ARE PIOUS * THERE ARE GLADE TIDINGS FOR THEM IN THE LOWER LIFE AND IN THE HEREAFTER, ALLAH’S WORDS WILL NEVER BE CHANGED, THIS IS THE GREAT SUCCESS”. (S: 10 A: 62-64)

Such a great promise for Allah’s allies and supporters that they will not be saddened or fear on Judgment Day. Also they are promises to have glade tidings concerning their status with Allah and the Hereafter during their life on Earth. Allah let us be among them. Amen.
